Gold Coast mansion once home to Dwayne Johnson for sale for $15 million

The Gold Coast’s most expensive Isle of Capri residence – a sprawling waterfront mansion that once hosted Hollywood star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson – is on the market for offers above $15 million.

The property at 59 The Corso spans four blocks and three storeys, featuring six bedrooms with ensuites, a six-car garage with lift access, and an entertainment wing that includes a bar, billiard room, and home cinema.

Johnson leased the property in April 2014 while filming on the Gold Coast, sharing a selfie from the residence on social media with the caption: “Mornin’ greetings from the Gold Coast, Australia … #RiseAndGrind #AussieLove.”

The mansion’s outdoor amenities are equally impressive. A saltwater infinity pool overlooks the waterfront, surrounded by a rainforest garden that backs onto a private beach.

A spa and sauna complete the wellness facilities, while a gym caters to fitness enthusiasts.

For those who appreciate fine wine, the temperature-controlled cellar stores up to 7,000 bottles. The entertainment wing also features a 12-seat dining table for formal occasions.

The property was completed in 2000 by owner Mara Spong and her then-husband Doug Spong, a multi-millionaire who worked with surf wear companies including Cult Industries, Billabong, and Rip Curl.

According to the listing, the handcut sandstone walls frame waterfront views where dolphins are sometimes spotted.

Mara Spong values the property at $20 million, though it has been listed with Unique Estates since May 2015 for offers above $15 million.

The master bedroom features its own dressing room in addition to the ensuite, while the property’s lift provides access throughout the residence from the garage level.

The Isle of Capri location itself adds appeal, with the waterfront position offering both privacy and proximity to the Gold Coast’s attractions.

Kollosche Director Michael Kollosche is marketing the property.
